Polzunov Altai State Technical University, 46 Lenin Prospekt, Barnaul, Altai region, 656038, Russian Federation Abstract This article discusses the problems associated with machining fiberglass plastics, in particular milling operations. Special attention is given to the heat generated during cutting fiberglass plastics, as the distribution of heat between the tool, workpiece and chips in the following ratio: ≈ 90%; ≈ 5%, 5%.Additionally, at temperatures above 300 - 350 ° C start intensive thermal destruction and degradation of the polymeric binder, which causes it to stick to the cutting edge of the tool. Thus, the method described studies to determine the degree of influence of the cutting process modes fiberglass plastics milling temperature in the cutting zone, as well as obtaining empirical relationships can be used to predict the temperature in designing milling operations as well as the comparative evaluation of various designs of cutters. Keywords Fiberglass, cutting tools, milling, heat, temperature, cutting area, cutting conditions, experiment, infrared thermometer, empirical relationships
