It is experimentally proved that increase of pipelaying speeds requires additional power influence in the horizontal direction. Realization of such influence by means of the winch with a pneumatic drive working from the mobile compressor is offered. Requirements to the sizes, weight and transportation conditions of the developed winch are formulated. The advantages of the developed equipment are: simplicity of service, fire and explosion safety, reliability of work in the wide range of temperatures, in the conditions of dusty and damp environment, high operation speed.
