Polzunov Altai State Technical University, 46 Lenina avenue, Barnaul, Altai region, 656038, Russian Federation Abstract The article gives a brief analysis of innovation activity of Russian engineering enterprises. Were identified barriers to improve the innovative activity of the enterprises. As the main methodological approach were used statistical methods of processing and analysis of statistical data. As an information base to identify innovative processes in the engineering industry was used statistics on innovations, human and infrastructure potential of enterprises. The main goal of this research is to find common points of engineering enterprises with universities in the implementation of innovation.
