Marksa, Novosibirsk, 630073, Russian Federation Abstract The research results of finishing grinding influence on the surface quality of metal-ceramic wear- resistant coatings obtained by plasma spraying of mechanical mixtures are presented in this paper. As the main component for formation of mixture served aluminium oxide powder to which nickel powder was added. The surface analysis, indicating the structure specificity of metal-ceramic coatings, was provided for the sprayed composition. Typical topography images and profilograms of the studied composition surface, which show that coatings from nickel-ceramic mixtures have an acceptable level of roughness after finishing grinding, are also presented. Keywords plasma spraying, wear-resistant coating, ceramic-metal, mechanical mixture, finishing grinding
