The definition of traceability is given. The indicators of production efficiency after the introduction of traceability systems are given. The main types of identification of products in manufacturing are considered. The conclusion about the effectiveness of RFID identification is made. The disadvantages of RFID technology are stated. The typical block diagram of the product identification and traceability system is presented. Traceability is an automated process of preparation the technological passport of product. The system consist of a marking unit, RFID identification unit, weighting unit and dosing unit, data acquisition unit, information processing unit and cloud based service unit. The main functions of the system are considered. Interaction of the main blocks with each other is shown. The conclusion about necessary of implement these systems for improve production efficiency is given. Keywords product identification and traceability, RFID technology, product marking.
