In the modern world enterprises have to pay attention to quality of the products. Reliability, durability, safeness and resource are the ones of the most important parameters, which will be provided during production. There are some problems during the machining of the waffle constructions of the shell. One of the problems is occurrence of residual stresses, which influence on geometry accuracy of the shell and decrease fatigue strength. Existing experimental, theoretical and theoretical-experimental formulas are sophisticated and doesn’t take inti account geometry of the shell. There are a lot of parameters which influence on the value of the residual stresses, but it really depends on technological parameters of the machining, such as machining parameters. Control of the parameters allows to predict the value of the residual stresses, so that to eliminate the necessary of the postproduction machining of the surfaces. The aim of the work is to explore the dependence of the residual deformations on the machining parameters taking into account the residual stresses. Exploring methods: analysis of the existing methods and modelling numerical FEM-model of the milling process in ANSYS software. Results and discussions. Results of the experiment on stresses and deformations during the milling are presented, so as residual stresses after removing of the external stresses. The analysis of the results allows to make the decision about influence of feed on the residual stresses in the surface. Common stresses weren’t changed a lot by changing the feed value. The depth of the residual stresses was increased by increasing the feed value. Keywords waffle constructions of the shell, residual stresses, milling, finite element method, machining parameters, computer numerical modelling
