Ulianov Chuvash State University, 15 Moskovsky Prospekt, Cheboksary, 428015, Russian Federation Abstract In the context of increasing requirements for the competitiveness of products on the world market, much attention is paid to the development and improvement of fundamentally new highly efficient processes that provide not only a reduction in the complexity of manufacturing, but also an increase in the quality and operational characteristics of modern products. The rapid development of most engineering industries together with increased requirements for the operational characteristics of products leads to the use of high-strength materials, the processing of which by traditional methods of blade and abrasive processing is difficult. In this regard, various types of combined processing are finding increasing application, allowing to increase the processing efficiency. Such processes include electrochemical grinding. It is possible to increase the efficiency and quality of processing due to the combined effect of the electrochemical grinding process on the product with a diamond tool on a metal bond and its continuous dressing with a special cathode. This creates an additional electrical editing circuit. If the working space of the cutting zone does not allow placing the ruling cathode in it (hard-to-reach, internal or shaped surfaces), then the tool is edited periodically by changing the direction of the current pulse (reverse polarity current) directly in the working circuit. The intensity of material removal when using this method depends, inter alia, on the duration of the pulses of the working current and the current dressing circle. At the same time, the influence of the duration of current pulses on the roughness of the treated surface has not been established. The aim of the work is to study the influence of the duration of the operating current pulses and the dressing current supplied periodically into the working circuit on the surface roughness of parts made of stainless steel grade 12X18H10T. It was established that the roughness of the machined surface of parts made of stainless steel grade 12X18H10T by electrochemical grinding with periodic electrochemical dressing of a diamond tool on a metal bond depends on the duration of the dressing current pulses and the duration of the operating current pulses. With an increase in the duration of the pulses of the working current and the dressing current, the roughness of the machined surface of the parts increases.
