The processing of these materials by traditional methods of cutting and abrasive processing is difficult. Currently, much attention is paid to the development of processing methods that can improve the efficiency of processing high-strength materials. These include corrosion-resistant steels. It is possible to increase the efficiency and quality of processing products made of corrosion-resistant steel 12Cr-18Ni-10Ti through the use of a combined process. It includes the process of mechanical removal of material by grinding and the electrochemical process of destruction of the surface layer of the material being processed. The electrochemical processing, in contrast to the mechanical one, depends to a lesser extent on the strength characteristics of the material being processed. The electrolyte plays an important role in the electrochemical grinding process. The electrolyte ensures the behavior of chemical and electrical reactions. It is used as a cutting fluid, for cooling the workpiece, removing dissolution products and sludge from the working area. The temperature and concentration of the electrolyte affects the characteristics of the processed surface. The aim of the work is to study the effect of temperature and electrolyte concentration on the surface roughness of parts made of corrosion-resistant steel grade 12Cr-18Ni-10Ti. It is established that with an increase in the electrolyte temperature from 20°C to 50°C and a sodium chloride concentration from 9% to 20% in an electrolyte based on distilled water, the roughness of samples processed by electrochemical grinding decreases from 0.658 µm to 0.475 µm.
