Marksa, Novosibirsk, 630073, Russian Federation Abstract The method of determining the efficiency of the main motion drive is presented on the basis of mathematical simulation of the operating conditions of a metal-cutting machine together with the analysis of the kinematics of the gear box. This approach makes it possible to predict the patterns of changes in the efficiency coefficient and determine the area of energy-efficient use of the machine.
