Ulianov Chuvash State University, 15 Moskovsky Prospekt, Cheboksary, 428015, Russian Federation Abstract Automation of the quality control process ensures high rates of scientific and technological progress by improving the quality of research, obtaining detailed data on the objects under study, and reducing the time for metrological assessments of measurements. The aim of the work is to analyze the main existing robotic means for measuring geometric parameters and determine the main stages of its selection. The analysis carried out shows that it is possible to single out the main stages of the choice of robotic tools: the choice of a measuring device, the choice of a robot design, and the choice of tasks to be solved using software. Depending on the design of the robot, the measurement method, the software, the measuring devices a specific application is usually found and specific problems are usually solved.
