For this purpose it is necessary to apply composite technologies. Efficient composites can be obtained by introducing conductive nanoscale additives into the structure of polymeric elastic matrices, which makes it possible to obtain nanomodified elastomers. Improvement of electrical and physical-mechanical characteristics of the presented materials allows expanding its functional properties in various applied problems, where application of actuating mechanisms in automatic control systems and high level of sensitivity for strain measurement are required. At the same time, the high potential lies in the possibility of optimizing the structural properties of nanomodified elastomers, which is be accompanied with the possibility of using microscale additives derived from various metals, including aluminum. Keywords Electroactive polymers, elastomers, functional material, carbon nanotubes.
