Ulianov Chuvash State University, 15 Moskovsky Prospekt, Cheboksary, 428015, Russian Federation Abstract The paper indicates the initial powder materials, methods for obtaining iron-copper composite materials from it and methods for studying its structure and determining the main physical, mechanical and operational properties, which are given as a range of its minimum and maximum values for all options for varying its chemical composition. In particular, these materials have a hardness of 225–255 HB, a recrystallization temperature of 900–965 °C, a thermal conductivity equal to 32.3–38.2% of the thermal conductivity of copper, a coefficient of linear thermal expansion — (13.6–13.8)10-6 and wear rate at contact pressure between tribounit elements of 100 MPa — 3.7710-8…2.010-8. The materials have a dispersion-strengthened structure. The given values of properties and the nature of its structure make it possible to attribute these materials to heat-resistant and wear-resistant composite materials, which may be of interest from the point of view of its use in parts of heavy-loaded friction pairs. Keywords Composite material, loads, contact pressure, wear, friction, fine particles, heat resistance, wear resistance.
