The method of electrical discharge machining (EDM) with wire cutting is the most accurate in tool production in the manufacture of mold parts, stamps and dies. However, it is also quite expensive. The machine setup and interoperational actions of the operator take additional time, which significantly reduces processing efficiency. The goal of the work is to maximize the use of equipment processing time. Methods for solving the problem are process automation through group and multi-coordinate processing, in which parts are first cut out and then removed from the workpiece. Results and discussion. The solutions to the problems of retaining dropping parts during EDM, discussed in this paper, reduced the scrap rate, accelerated the cutting speed by up to 10 %, and reduced the total processing time to 25 %. The expansion of processing techniques in EDM makes the production of tooling more processible. Keywords Electrical discharge machining, wire cutting, waste, group processing, multi-coordinate processing, molds, stamps, dies, tool production.
