Marksa, Novosibirsk, 630073, Russian Federation Abstract A technology has been developed to increase the wear resistance of production equipment tooling elements for the production of railway linings used in the turnout mounting system. The most acute wear problem manifests itself during the operation of a cutting-punching stamp. When the steel strip slides, the lateral restraints wear out quite quickly; this affects the accuracy of manufacturing the linings for the rail mounting system. Wear resistance is increased by implementing all stages of the plasma spraying process of wear-resistant coatings, including preliminary cleaning of the surface of the part, application of a wear-resistant layer and finishing treatment. The technological parameters of each stage were assigned taking into account previously conducted experimental studies. Industrial tests conducted at the Novosibirsk Switch Plant JSC (NSZ) showed that the use of plasma coatings increased the wear resistance of parts by 1.15 times compared to traditional volume hardening technology. The economic effect when introducing plasma spraying technology is achieved by reducing the production of new parts, eliminating volume hardening and replacing the workpiece material with low-carbon steel 20, as well as the possibility of repeated restoration. Keywords plasma spraying, wear-resistant coating, grinding, jet-abrasive processing, turnout, stamping equipment.
