Ulianov Chuvash State University, 15 Moskovsky Prospekt, Cheboksary, 428015, Russian Federation Abstract The paper examines the electrical parameters that can be adjusted to control the current during the electrochemical dressing process of diamond grinding wheels with metal bonds. Such tools are used for the finishing of modern hard-to-machine composite materials, such as cutting ceramics. The method of controlling pulse frequency and signal width when using a thyristor AC-to-DC converter is considered. The application of this control in the dressing circuit of metal-bonded diamond wheels for a specific technological process — grinding cutting ceramics — is discussed. An analysis of the possibilities of this control is performed as applied to the technological scheme for dressing diamond abrasive wheels with metal bonds during the processing of composite cutting ceramic material. Keywords Abrasive machining, tool materials, abrasive tool dressing, cutting mineral ceramics, electrochemical methods, thyristor converter.
