Marksa, Novosibirsk, 630073, Russian Federation Abstract The structure and phase features of the welds of the steel Сt3 +steel 12X18H10T", steel Сt3+ aluminum A5M, steel tт3+ copperM1 bimetallic compositions are considered. An undulating nature of the material flow in the welding zone for all the above compositions is experimentally confirmed. It is revealed that when the composition of low-carbon and stainless steel is used in explosion welding, the flow pattern is laminar with a negligible wave asymmetry. A turbulent wave flow is observed in the weld zone of low-carbon steel and aluminum. The wave flow in the metal compound for the low-carbon steel and copper composition corresponds to a vortex type. Plastic flow wave parameters such as wavelength and amplitude are experimentally determined. Keywords bimetallic compositions, explosive welding, weld, wave flow of materials, vortex, laminar, turbulent flow of materials
