Kuznetsova The results of a studying the synthesis of the zirconium diboride powder and its characteristics are presented in the article. Zirconium diboride was obtained from dioxide zirconium and carbide boron in an induction furnace. The presence of zirconium diboride in samples was identified by X-ray diffraction. The shape and size of particles of zirconium diboride samples were determined by scanning electron microscopy. The resulting material contained a single phase - zirconium diboride and particles with the size of 2-3 µm. Key words: zirconium diboride, nanofibrous carbon, synthesis.
