The studying of the synthesis of titanium diboride with the use nanofibrous carbon Yu. L. Krutskiy, A.V. Antonova, I.S. Frolova, A.G. Bannov The results of a studying the synthesis of the titanium diboride fine powder and its characteristics investigation are presented in the article. Titanium diboride was obtained from titanium dioxide, boron carbide and nanofibrous carbon in an induction furnace. The present of titanium diboride on the samples was identified by X-ray diffraction. The shape and size of particles of titanium diboride samples were determined by scanning electron microscopy. Thermooxidation stability of was determined. The resulting material contained a single phase - titanium diboride and particles with the size of 3-5 µm. As- received diboride started to oxidize at ~ 450°C. Key words: titanium diboride, nanofibrous carbon, synthesis.
