Fabrication of the "nickel aluminide - nickel" composite by using the spark plasma sintering technology L.I. Shevtsova, T.S. Sameyshcheva “Nickel aluminide – nickel” composites were fabricated by the spark plasma sintering of powder mixtures containing nickel and nickel aluminide. The effect of nickel content on the mechanical properties of the sintered composites is considered in this paper. It was found that under the same sintering conditions bending strength of sintered compacts has a maximum at nickel content of ~ 30 wt%. (1900 MPa). Key words: intermetallics, nickel aluminide, composite, powder metallurgy, spark plasma sintering.
